Can physical exercise and rehabilitation for endometriosis improve sex life and reduce pain during sex?

Answer
Scientists analyzed studies in which women with endometriosis followed rehabilitation programs, and assessed their sexual function using the FSFI index. On average, those who participated showed a slight improvement, but the difference with the control group was statistically insignificant — only 0.12 points, and the authors themselves consider the results preliminary. The reason is that there are few such studies, the programs vary, and endometriosis manifests differently in everyone, so no definitive conclusion can be drawn. This does not mean that physical exercise is useless: it is possible that there is an effect, but it is weaker than the review can detect, or it appears only in some women. If sex is painful, do not endure it and ask your doctor about a pelvic floor specialist or a rehabilitation specialist working with endometriosis; physical exercise can be part of a comprehensive approach, but not a replacement for treatment.
